Service Description

SK&C Mental Health UnitWe are a multi-disciplinary integrated community team serving an area of the Borough of South Kensington and Chelsea. It is a diverse area culturally, economically and socially. We are based in the South Kensington and Chelsea Mental Health Unit, which is situated alongside the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The team is multi-disciplinary by nature, and consists of Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPNs), Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Services. We also work with Primary Care professionals, other health professionals, as well as with the voluntary sector.

The team provides a service to adults with enduring mental illness aged between 18-65. However, the team does not provide a service to clients presenting with a primary problem of substance misuse or new referrals of older adults, children or clients with learning difficulties.

We offer a duty system on Monday-Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4:45pm to which clients may self-refer. Social Workers, Nurses and Occupational Therapists staff this on a rotational basis.
