Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded ‘good’ for quality of care and ‘excellent’ for use of resources by the Care Quality Commission in the fourth annual assessment of the NHS.

The 2008/09 annual health check gives a detailed picture of the quality of services provided by all NHS trusts in England and covers a range of areas including the safety of patients, cleanliness, access to services and ensuring people’s individual needs are met.

Claire Murdoch, CEO of CNWL said, ‘I am pleased with our scores of ‘good’ for quality of care and ‘excellent’ for use of resources following a demanding but rewarding year and that the hard work of our staff has been recognised once again.   Clearly our hope would be to achieve excellent for quality of care and our main priority and our efforts in the coming year will be aimed at achieving this.   Ensuring people who use our services have a positive and welcoming experience is fundamental to everything that we do and we will continue to listen to user feedback and make improvements where necessary.’

The report confirms the Trust has met all of the Care Quality Commission’s core standards for the 12 months up to 31st March 2009.
