Guidance for the completion of the application form

Your completed application form plays an important part in the selection process because it contains the information about you that will allow the selection panel to decide whether you should be invited for interview and it also will be used at the interview. The following advice and that in the shaded rows is to help you complete the application form as effectively as possible.

Job Description

All posts have a job description detailing the duties of the job. You should use this document to assess how your skills and experience match the main responsibilities listed.

Person Specification

This document describes those skills, knowledge and experience and other requirements that we consider are necessary to do the job. To be invited for interview you need to have at least all those attributes detailed in the essential column. In some cases you may also need to have all or some of the desirable attributes (with the exception of disabled applicants). Detail in your application evidence from your past experience, work; paid or unpaid, school or other interests

Complaints

Any complaints that applications have been unfairly considered on the grounds of our Equal Opportunities Policy should be made to the Chair of the Appointments Panel. Alternatively you may write to the Director of Human Resources, Greater London House, Hampstead Road, London NW1 7QY. Complaints should be made in writing within 14 days of the interview or the notification of the interview decision.
