CNWL's international leads join healthcare trade mission in India
10 June 2016
CNWL's international leads Dr Pramod Prabhakaran and Dr Alex Lewis joined the Chairman of NHS England, Sir Malcolm Grant, this week at the smart cities healthcare trade mission to Delhi and Mumbai, India.
Dr Prabhakaran, said: "The mission is an opportunity to demonstrate our expertise to the Indian market. We're talking to attendees about design, development and management of healthcare facilities, the setting up and running of high quality clinical services and the training and education of staff.
"India's smart cities programme is expected to significantly upgrade the healthcare infrastructure in these cities and this mission places the UK as a healthcare partner of choice for the programme."
The delegation included 23 British companies and NHS trusts and focused on better clinical outcomes complemented with seamless integration of technologies.
Subsequent to the visit some British companies have initiated talks to introduce advanced screening modalities in cervical cancer and in technologies like electronic medical records (EMR). The programme is very relevant for India a country which lacks in having a mandatory robust system of screening cervical cancer as it is done in the developed countries like the US and UK.
