Who we areMilton Keynes Private Podiatry Service is run by NHS staff from CNWL's specialist podiatry service. All clinicians working in this private service are fully-qualified, experienced NHS professionals that are registered with the HCPC.
Treatments we offerNail cutting A service provided for people who struggle to complete nail cutting themselves regardless of medical history. Keeping your nails at an appropriate length will help you stay active and independent. Ingrown toenails An ingrown toenail develops when the sides of the toenail grow into the surrounding skin. The nail curls and pierces the skin, which may become red, swollen and tender. We can treat your toenail on the day (if suitable, without anaesthetic) and offer advice to make it less likely to happen again. We can also offer nail surgery for a permanent resolution. Corns and callus Corns and callus are areas of hard skin that develop when the skin is exposed to excessive pressure or friction, which can cause pain and discomfort when walking. The podiatrist can help to alleviate the problem by removing the hard skin and offer advice on footwear and pressure relief e.g. insoles. Common skin conditions The Podiatrist can assess and diagnose common skin conditions presenting in the foot and offer advice on suitable treatment options. Verrucas We do not actively treat verrucas, but we can offer diagnosis and advice on the current best practice for self-help and treatments available from your local pharmacy. We can also reduce the hard skin to make the verruca site less painful to walk on and treatments more effective. Biomechanical assessments If you are suffering from foot pain our Podiatrists are able to offer biomechanical assessments and advise you on appropriate footwear, insoles and orthotics.
