Funding for St Charles soars following staff fun run

18 October 2017

Staff from St Charles Hospital achieved a total of over £3,000 in fundraising for the hospital with the Danube Ward team boasting a staggering £2,488.

In a bid to relieve some of the pressures of financial constraints and improve the ward for patients and their families, St Charles staff took part in the Richmond Parkrun a few weeks ago.

Emily Tabb, Clinical Team Leader on the Danube Ward, said: “Our patients can be the most vulnerable people in society – every day we endeavour to help them in any way we can. The constraints of finance in the NHS, can however at times reduce our creativity and the opportunity to go above and beyond for our patients. We want to raise money to create a brighter, lighter ward environment; more facilities and access to technology like Ipads, or individual radios, or day trips for patients and staff to improve wellbeing.”

“We appreciate any donation that is provided to us and we promise it will directly make a difference to our patients and their experience in hospital.”
