The ‘16 Days of Activism’ is an international campaign on ending violence against women and girls and runs from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
As part of the 16 Days of Activism, partners across the boroughs have arranged a number of events, training, conferences and campaigns to mark this period.
Throughout November there are programme of events to attend, click on this link.
CNWL are facilitating a Domestic Abuse conference on 27 November at the 52 Club on Gower Street and response has been overwhelming - all spaces have already been taken. Nicole Jacobs, will be the keynote speaker and she is the newly appointed Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales and are looking forward to hearing what this role will entail going forwards.
The event is also an opportunity to launch a network of Domestic Abuse ambassadors across the Trust who can help to ensure that staff are able to access specialist support and advice and fly the flag for this important topic.
Susan Bray, CNWL Named Professional for Safeguarding Children says: 'Having a team of Domestic Abuse ambassadors Trustwide will really support this prevalent and sensitive cause and ensure that we create environments where both clients and staff feel able to disclose any abuse that they may be experiencing'.
