Louise Cook began working for our Trust in March 2003 at The Cottages Horton Rehab Epsom as Home Supervisor.
She continued in this role until last year when she started her current position as a receptionist/administrator at The Link Horton Rehab, she has now been awarded our Employee of the Month.
Her role includes working alongside the team to provide clerical and administrative support on site.
She says the best part of the role is: “Although I am not on the wards anymore, I still get the chance to see and spend time with the client group here at Horton when I do the patients bank. I also enjoy meeting all the visitors that come to Horton.”
Themba Msika, Ward Manager at Rushett House nominated Louise for the award, part of his reasons why was read aloud during the presentation.
“Never have we met a person willing to go out of their way to be of help and solve problems like Louise Cook. Nothing is reassuring as finding Louise sitting on that desk at reception of the Link. There are million ways and examples of how this one person has been a pleasure to find at work as we know help and solution is at hand. There is no job too hard, too mundane or dirty for Louise."
Suzanne Smithers, Senior Administrator, who works closely with Louise described her as ‘an integral part of the team’.
She said: “She epitomises our Trust Vales, she treats all of our patients with respect and compassion, but works with them so that they can achieve their goals.”
Describing her win, Louise said: “I was shocked very overwhelmed and humbled that my colleagues put me forward for this award. It is lovely to think that people think this much of me and I am very grateful.”
