CNWL celebrates Carers’ Week

13 June 2018

To celebrate Carers' Week (11 to 17 June 2018), CNWL hosted a tea party at Stephenson House, offering fruit, cake and biscuits to mark the occasion.

A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health problem or needs extra help as they grow older.

Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but sometimes carers find it challenging to take care of their own health and wellbeing, while caring.

The theme this year is ‘supporting carers to be healthy and connected’. It is about bringing people together to help us have a shared understanding of the highs and lows of caring.

The tea party was co-hosted by CNWL Chief Operating Officer Robyn Doran and CNWL Chair Professor Dorothy Griffiths.

We are also encouraging staff at other CNWL sites to host their own tea party too and have sent them instruction on how to do so.
