Homelessness nurse spreads joy over Christmas

Gabrielle Bleidorn, a peripatetic health and wellbeing nurse who works with homeless people, became Mrs Claus over the Christmas period to her clients.
Gabby delivered 500 gifts including socks, scarves and hats to clients in hostels and drop-in centres across Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.
Money for these gifts came from the CNWL Charity, as it did last year, while generous Gabby and other colleagues also dug deep for smaller items.
Gabby said: “I had such an amazing reaction from these people. Over past years, we’ve generally done this from our own pockets so this year it was a slightly bigger present.
“I had people in tears. A few days before Christmas people were saying to me that they were still wearing that scarf I gave to them last year so this shows what it meant to them.
“It really touches them and makes a real difference to them. One person came and found me while I was still delivering presents, he was so grateful.”
