Our new Chief Pharmacist
14 February 2019
When Anne Tyrrell retires Anshu Rayan (pictured) will be the interim Chief Pharmacist for CNWL.
Anshu studied at The London School of Pharmacy and obtained a BSc honours in Pharmacology and Toxicology and a BPharm honours in Pharmacy.
She has been a registered pharmacist for over 20 years and has worked here for 19 years; starting as an Addictions Pharmacist she moved into various pharmacy management roles across the organisation.
She has been Associate/Deputy Chief Pharmacist for over 10 years, and is delighted to cover the position of Interim Chief Pharmacist.
Anshu says “it is a privilege to work alongside such incredibly dedicated loyal and hardworking pharmacy staff. I look forward to leading on the Medicines Optimisation Agenda to maximise the benefit of medicines to patients and enhance patient safety. My primary skill as a manager of people is the undivided time I give to support staff and colleagues, but to all those within the Trust who look to me for guidance. It has always been my philosophy that to get the best out of people one must nurture, guide and continually show genuine gratitude.”
“I aim to maintain and continually improve the valuable work of Anne Tyrrell.”
Away from work, Anshu values the precious time she spends with her family and in her spare time enjoys swimming, running and yoga.
Anshu loves her frequent visits to the south of Spain where she can relax with family and friends, enjoy the food and speak the local language.
