Owen Bowden-Jones launches new book at Stephenson House
25 July 2016
Dr Owen Bowden-Jones has launched his new book - The Drug Conversation: How to talk to your child about drugs.
On Friday he was joined at CNWL headquarters by staff from across the Trust in an event held jointly with the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCP) who commissioned the book.
This allowed guests to ask questions about drug use in children and Dr Bowden-Jones to discuss the ideas behind the book from his professional experience
Dr Bowden-Jones has specialised in addiction psychiatry for the past 12 years, overseeing alcohol and drug services in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea. He also founded the CNWL Club Drug Clinic the UK’s largest multi-disciplinary service for people using ‘legal highs’ and ‘club drugs’.
‘The Drug Conversation’ provides information on the different types of drugs available, their attractions and harms, how they work in the brain, and who uses them and why. It also gives practical advice on how to prepare for a conversation about drugs with your child.
The book is available for sale through the RCP website. (Opens new window)
