Library and knowledge services
Our library and knowledge services support healthcare delivery by providing access to knowledge and information for patient care, service development, research, education and training.
Our services and resources aim to reflect the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare services and management. We focus on electronic access to evidence, to serve our geographically dispersed workforce why they need it.
Professional library staff are available to provide assistance to staff and trainees on placement with their knowledge and research needs. Training is available in how to get the best out of our collection of web-based resources, including databases, e-books, online journals and summaries of evidence – from searching the literature to appraising and presenting results. Other services include literature searches, current awareness bulletins, study and publication support.
We have updated our library and knowledge services and postgraduate centre resource, investing in a Library Hub, which is at St Charles Hospital in Kensington, offering excellent facilities including a pleasant place to study and teach, with laptops and Wi-Fi. We will be establishing more of these library hubs in other units in the months ahead.
