Brent and Harrow Community Health Team (Learning Disabilities) is committed to providing support for people with complex or challenging behaviour in a community setting for Brent and Harrow.

Our multi-disciplinary community health teams are made up of community nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists and a range of other support workers. We provide assessment and treatment to people in their choice of environment, whether that be in their own home or an alternative community setting such as a local clinic, school, college, day service, supported living, residential setting, care home or hospital.

The team also provides a psychosexual assessment service for people with learning disabilities aged over 16.

Changes to the way that people with learning disabilities will access local health services in Harrow

In future, people with mild learning disabilities in Harrow will have the same access to health care as any other member of the community. They should only need to access specialist learning disability services when their needs are very complex or their degree of learning disability is such that specialist services are required.

Our team is available to attend local disability group meetings, where we can explain more about the changes and how the transfer of care is taking place.
