MOSAIC (Making Our Services All Integrated in Camden) provides the skills and professionals needed to support the needs of children and young people with disabilities. It is a joint service provided by CNWL and the London Borough of Camden.

The service aims to help children and young people to join in with all aspects of school, leisure and community activities, and support their independence and involvement in all decisions that affect them, preparing them for adult life.

It aims to achieve this by:

  • Working with families to develop a greater understanding of their child’s needs and to agree a family support plan that is reviewed over time.
  • Making sure that appropriate services are available to all children, young people and families, based on their individual needs.
  • Listening to and learning from the experiences of children, young people and families who use the service.
  • Sharing specialist knowledge and skills with families, other organisations and the wider community.

The service provides assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic intervention from a range of professionals from health and social care to create a 'team around the child'. The team includes:

  • Speech and language therapist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist
  • Child psychotherapist, clinical psychologist, child psychiatrist and family therapist
  • Specialist health visitor, paediatric dietician and paediatrician
  • Social workers and a family support worker

In this film, we meet the Camden MOSAIC Child Development Team. This film features: Alison Butterworth - Lead Occupational Therapist, Alison Montgomery – Speech and Language Therapist and Charlotte Pelzer – a mother whose child was diagnosed with autism.
