01908 801169The Specialist Paediatric Continence Service is a community-based service offering advice, support, assessment, treatment and management of bladder and bowel dysfunction (toilet training delay, bedwetting, daytime wetting, constipation and soiling) for children.
The service provides support for children who have found that interventions carried out by health visitors and/or school nurses have not been successful.
Following a referral to the service, children/young people will be assessed at home, in school/pre-school, or in a clinic setting.
Eligibility criteria (who is the service for?):
The service is offered to children and young people between 0 and 19 years, who live within Milton Keynes.
How can someone be referred?
The service accepts referrals from health visitors, school nurses, general practitioners (GPs), consultant paediatricians, children with complex needs team, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), and allied health professionals such as therapists and other professionals (educational settings). Self–referrals from parents or guardians will also be accepted. Referrals from professionals should be made by letter or by completion of the request for continence support referral form.
Once the referral has been received for the child, or young person, an appointment for an initial assessment will be offered as soon as possible

NHS e-Referral is not applicable to this service.
Service times:
The Paediatric Continence Service is available from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
