Meet the team
The Vincent Square Eating Disorder Service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of over 40 specialist staff including:
Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist – Dr Frances Connan
Frances has worked in the service for over 10 years as a consultant psychiatrist. She trained in eating disorders at the Bethlem and Maudsley and completed a PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry. She has published a number of chapters and peer reviewed articles, and presented at conferences both nationally and internationally. She has been a member of the Executive and Academic Secretary for the Eating Disorder Section of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and played a lead role in the development of the Quality Assurance Network for Eating Disorders (QED). She is currently a member of the NHS England Clinical Reference Group for Eating Disorders.
Service Manager - Rachel Clancy
Rachel qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1995 and as an Approved Mental Health Professional in 2012. She has experience in a variety of mental health settings and has worked in eating disorders for three years. Rachel has been at Vince Square since 2018.
Consultant Psychiatrist - Dr Phillipa Buckley
Phillipa is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in our CAMHS Community Team. She is trained in core psychiatry at the Maudsley and later as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist through the Great Ordmond Street(GOSH)/East London Higher Training Programme.
Before joining Vincent Square, Philippa worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in generic CAMHS. She has extensive experience across the full range of both feeding and eating disorders in children and adolescents from community, inpatient to specialist referral centres. In addition, she has held consultant positions in our outpatient CYP ED services, adolescent inpatient and the GOSH Feeding and Eating Disorders Service.
Phillipa has published research related to HIV and cannabis use in schizophrenia, development of low self-esteem in offspring of mothers with post-partum depression and acute confusional states as a consequence of severe malnutrition.
Phillipa has been invited to guest speak at several professional conference and media settings. Her particular interest lies in promoting parity of esteem across feeding and disorder throughout all age ranges.
Consultant Psychiatrist - Dr Alice Coddington
Alice is a Consultant Psychiatrist to the outpatient department, after taking up the role in 2014. She undertook her medical psychotherapy higher training at Cassel Hospital and Parkside Clinic. The backbone of this was psychodynamic, both individual and group.
Alice has training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and family work. She believes strongly in the important of timely evidence based therapy for eating disorders. Her role is to support the therapists and patient in their work together.
Consultant Psychiatrist - Dr Divina Pillay
Divina is a Clinical Lead to our Outpatient Assessment and Liaison Service. She trained as a General Adult Psychiatrist in Dublin, Ireland and at the University College London (UCL)/ Royal Free Hospital program before joining Vincent Square.
Divina has had previous training with eating disorders at St Ann's Hospital in Haringey and at Vincent Square. She has published research related to addiction, carer's group and trainee's experiences in psychiatry and has completed an MSc in Transcultural Psychiatry.
Lead Clinical Psychologist - Dr Ana Micsunescu
Ana is the Lead Psychologist for the service. She trained and qualified in Australia as a Clinical Psychologist. She has extensive background in working with complex presentations across a variety of services and settings and has over 10 years experience working in specialist personality disorder services.
Ana has been working at Vincent Square since 2018, providing coordination of evidence based psychological therapy and interventions.
Lead Nurse – Kuda Kali
Kuda is the Lead Nurse for the service. Her management role spans across the all-age service. She supports the nursing teams from CAMHS to adult care pathways within the ward environment and community.
Family Therapy Lead - Mark Brayford
Mark Brayford qualified as an RMN in 1989 and undertook a variety of posts in mental health services and has an extensive background working with personality disorders. He qualified as a family therapist in 2001 and specialised in eating disorders in 2005. He is a member of Association of Family Therapy and full member of UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Liaison Team Manager - Dana Myers
Dana is a qualified RMN and has worked in specialist eating disorder services since 2010. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dana has experience working with families in both these settings as well as delivering skills training to carers.
Ward Manager - Liz Walsh
Liz has worked in healthcare since 2008. In 2008, she qualified as an RMN. Liz worked for several years in a variety of mental health acute units in Belfast and London before joining Vincent Square in 2011 as a staff nurse.
Day programme team
Lead Occupational Therapist, Day Programme Manager - Camilla Finch
Camilla is a qualified Occupational Therapist and has worked in specialist eating disorder services since 2014. She has worked in both inpatient and intensive outpatient day programme settings. She is also our day programme manager which involves leading our day patient programme.
