A new year already and a great time to pause, take stock, reflect on the last year, acknowledge achievements and start to look ahead and make plans for 2024.

Qi Birthday 6 years cake.jpgIn November we celebrated our sixth QI Birthday, reinforcing the maturity of our improvement work which is now part of CNWL’s DNA.

2023 saw our reputation for excellence in our improvement work grow both nationally and internationally, being heard at the Health Service Journal Awards; Bristol Patient Safety Conference; IHI/BMJ International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare, Copenhagen; NHS England Co-Production Week and at the Royal College of Psychiatrists Annual Improvement Conference.

Our 4th annual CNWL Safety Conversation Day was held on the 9 November 2023 and attended by 460 staff, service users and carers, who heard 19 teams present their improvement work. We also had over 140 posters submitted and 10 improvement awards presented on the day. You can read more about the day, the posters and the awards here.

We have much to look forward to in 2024 with opportunities to deepen our improvement work within CNWL and exciting opportunities to work with partners to embrace improvement methodologies across the system.

Whatever your improvement plans are for 2024, I wish you every success and if you need advice or support please do get in touch.

Best wishes
