On 16 July 2025, CNWL held its Resident Doctor QI Presentation Event - a new biannual initiative organised by Dr Kallpana Dhas (CNWL Medical Education and Quality Improvement Fellow) and Dr Tami Kramer (Clinical Lead for Quality Improvement and Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at CNWL). The event was created to showcase resident doctor-led quality improvement projects across the Trust, providing a platform for doctors to present their work and to foster shared learning across sites and specialties.

We were delighted to welcome over 55 attendees from across the Trust. The event, chaired by Dr Kramer, featured six excellent presentations of work at different stages. The resident doctor led projects all included focus on improvements to physical health care within mental health services, which is a priority area for CNWL.

Presentations:

  • Dr Win-Min Thet – Women and Their Pattern of Use of Novel Psychoactive Substances
  • Dr Charlotte Dinkel – Improving Older Adult DIALOG+ Care Plans Through a Time-Efficient and High-Quality Template
  • Dr Doaa Sadek – Improving Physical Health Compliance in Brent Early Intervention Service
  • Dr Osama Hassan – Enhancing Physical Health Knowledge Among Mental Health Professionals
  • Dr Sarah Wu – From Fragmented to Connected: A QI Project to Create an E-Directory for Liaison Psychiatry
  • Dr Hashim Shaaban & Dr Zahra Nadeem – Optimising ECG Surveillance in Outpatients Receiving Clozapine: A Quality Improvement Project

Following the presentations, Dr Kramer praised the high calibre, innovative approaches, and impact-focused nature of the projects, and encouraged presenters to consider submitting their work for poster presentation or publication, with support available from the CNWL QI team.
