Since September 2019 Ellington Ward in Harrow has been taking part in a Quality Improvement (QI) project to reduce falls. The aim of this project is to reduce patient falls on wards by 20% by September 2020. Maggie Lee, Occupational Therapist and project lead from Ellington Ward shares her improvement story in a video interview. Maggie discusses the impact of Covid-19, some of the PDSA’s (Plan, do, study, and act) cycles the team tried and gives advice to current and future improvement project teams.

“The QI approach has had an impact on the team as a whole, it’s brought the team together in having a common goal and when we feel that things have gone well it has been a team sense of pride that we’ve all contributed towards the benefits.” – Maggie Lee, Occupational Therapist.
