CNWL Liaison and Diversion services have received significant national acclaim this week. Their work was praised during the opening remarks of an NHS England–led East of England Health and Justice Conference, where speakers highlighted the service’s influential contribution to the Independent Review of the Criminal Courts (Part 2) led by Sir Brian Leveson.
It was noted that Roz Kerr, Service Manager, supported by Claire Murdoch, CNWL Chief Executive and Dr Simon Edwards, Medical Director played an instrumental role in shaping several of the review’s recommendations. These included the recognition of Liaison and Diversion who provide essential services within police stations and courts, providing holistic and coordinated care for vulnerable individuals.
The review also emphasised the need for increased resources for Liaison and Diversion services, alongside improved access to digital court systems across both NHS and HM Courts & Tribunals Service platforms.
We warmly welcome these findings and look forward to the rollout of the recommendations, which are expected to have a positive and lasting impact on this vital and highly valued service.
