From October 2023, a new service will be piloted in Brent, Harrow, Westminster as well as Kensington and Chelsea. It will be jointly funded by CNWL and the Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
The Children and Young People Mental Health Primary Care Service aims to improve access to mental health support in the community within the principles of the THRIVE Framework.
The THRIVE Framework is a person centred and needs led approach to delivering mental health services for children, young people and their families.
The service will provide timely consultations and discussions within GP settings outside of the traditional referral pathways, offering preventative rather than symptom-led involvement from mental health services.
The service will be aligned to the 'Getting Advice' and 'Getting Help' domains of the THRIVE framework as seen in the diagram.
A key goal is to strengthen multi-agency working with the wider Integrated Care Board (ICB) networks, voluntary care sector agencies, wider CAMHS services, adult services and services within the 0-19 community as well as children and young people known to GP surgeries.
