The Adolescent Community Treatment Service (ACTS) — CNWL’s CAMHS Home Treatment Team — has been officially accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Quality Network for Community CAMHS (QNCC), making it one of only a few teams nationwide to achieve this status.

This accreditation was awarded for best practice and recognises ACTS’s high standards of care, excellent teamwork, and positive outcomes for young people and their families. Reviewers praised the team’s warm and dedicated approach, effective partnership working, and commitment to reducing hospital admissions through intensive, community-based support.

This success is a proud moment for CNWL’s Children and Young People’s Services, highlighting the team’s years of hard work and commitment to supporting young people’s mental health.

Dr Cerian Avent, ACTS Clinical Lead said, “Since the team’s formation in 2019, ACTS has worked hard to provide a community-based alternative to hospital for young people and families experiencing a mental health crisis. Achieving QNCC accreditation is an incredible accolade for our team and reflects their dedication and clinical expertise.”

To achieve QNCC accreditation, ACTS submitted evidence to a review committee demonstrating that it met 224 standards reflecting the highest level of care. Over the past three years, QNCC has conducted detailed, multi-stage peer reviews of ACTS and has praised the team for making a real difference in young people’s lives.

“Parents/carers and young people spoke highly of the service. Parents/carers felt that the service had made a real difference to their child’s care, and that they would be in a very different position had it not been for the support received,” noted QNCC.
