The International AIDS Conference 2022, held every two years, gathers people living with and affected by HIV as well as those working to address the HIV epidemic.
The conference is famous for its Global Village where communities from all over the world can gather to share, learn and drive change. This year it took place in Montreal, Canada as a face-to-face and virtual hybrid; attended by several thousand people.
Dr Laura Waters, CNWL’s HIV Lead and GU Consultant at Mortimer Market Centre, was invited to moderate two sessions: a panel discussion on long-acting HIV treatment and the keynote lecture by Dr Anthony S Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the US National Institute of Health.
In addition, Dr Irfaan Maan, Rhiannon Owen, and Dr Manik Kohli, who were representing CNWL and University College London (UCL), also presented data on Covid-19 vaccination uptake among people living with HIV who are attending CNWL’s HIV services.
