Dr Christy Pitfield, Principal Perinatal Clinical Psychologist and Dr Caroline Pontvert, Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist gave a presentation on Perinatal Mental Health in prison for Anna Freud's webinar on attachment theory and its application in the criminal justice system.
CNWL's Perinatal Mental Health Team offer perinatal mental health assessment and treatment to all pregnant women in prison, and mothers in the prison mother and baby unit. They also offer assessment and care to the women in the postnatal period who are separated from their baby if they present perinatal mental health difficulties.
