To mark World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day, the Ealing Pulmonary Rehabilitation team hosted a public engagement event to share knowledge and discuss ways to reduce the burden of COPD.
Djeya Kaliaraju, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Lead from Ealing Community Partners, said:
“The two events were very well attended. We had patients, clinical staff and public come and talk to us, to find out more about COPD management and what we do as a service.”
The events took place in the community, outside Greenford Tesco and the main entrance to Ealing Hospital. See all the pictures below.
A patient who attended on the day, said:
“Talking to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team was very helpful to learn more about my condition and it was very reassuring that there is a service out there to help people who suffer with a chronic illness.”
Patients with other lung conditions also found the engagement events helpful. As part of the event, the team promoted a range of information and services for quitting smoking.
Thank you to the Ealing Pulmonary Rehabilitation team in making this a successful event, as well as Louisa Erasmus from the North West London ICB and Sukhbir Kaur, Respiratory Nurse Specialist from Ealing Hospital.
