Milton Keynes Continence Team provides continence assessments, products and treatments to people with bowel and bladder problems.

In addition to the continence assessment service, the team also provides a service to deliver continence products to people at home.

The team consists of a continence specialist nurse, a district nursing continence specialist nurse and an administrator.

The service is available to people over the age of 18 who are registered with a Milton Keynes general practitioner (GP).

Individuals can be referred by any healthcare professional (e.g. GP, specialist nurse, practice nurse, district nurse) or carer providing they have given consent for the referral. Individuals can also self-refer.

Referrals can be made by telephone, fax or by letter. If referring by telephone, please do not leave referral details on the answer phone. Leave a brief message, name and telephone number and the team will call you back.

NHS e-Referral is not applicable to this service.

Continence specialist nurses are available from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

The Continence Administration Office is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm.

Individuals will be invited to attend the continence clinic. For those who are housebound, Milton Keynes District Nursing Service can make a home (domiciliary) visit instead, following a referral via the individual's GP or directly to the district nursing team.
