One Community is a grassroots, service-user led initiative that promotes and maintains mental health recovery in collaboration with community partners forming a thriving social network.

Through activities at St Charles Mental Health Centre, gardens and nearby Bay20 Community Centre, One Community promotes value, self-esteem, safety, equality and diversity, while tackling social isolation.

The initiative is based in and around North Kensington, serving the densely populated inner-London boroughs of Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and Brent (the fourth most deprived borough in London).

One Community is supported and provided by the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, alongside CNWL and the CNWL NHS Health Charity.

Each week, the One Community network engage with one another through activities and workshops, including:

  • Theatre, script writing and poetry workshops
  • Art and creative workshops on various themes with Mark Lovelace
  • The One Community and Danny Irving pop-up music studio, lyric and song writing sessions with professional musicians and engineers plus the opportunity to record,  including guitar playing percussion for people of all levels
