CNWL’s Arts in Health group recently visited the Serpentine Gallery to explore Thoughts in the Roots, an exhibition by Italian artist Giuseppe Penone.
The exhibition focuses on nature, the senses, and our connection to the environment. The group really enjoyed the visit, with some members going round for a second look. Others particularly appreciated the sensory elements and the outdoor sculptures.
Everyone found something to connect with, whether it was the textures, the natural materials, or the calm atmosphere. Afterwards, the group created their own response artworks in the gallery's learning space, inspired by what they had seen and felt.
Arts in Health is a CNWL service using creative activity to support mental and physical health and wellbeing. The group regularly visits museums and galleries across London for inspiration and connection.
