ARCH, our addictions treatment service in Hillingdon, hosted its ‘Hive of Hope’ Day celebration at Old Bank House in Uxbridge.

The event brought together service users, carers, staff, and partner agencies, joined by special guests—the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Philip Corthorne, and Danny Beales, Member of Parliament for Uxbridge & South Ruislip. Their presence underlined the importance of recovery not just for individuals and families, but for the wider community.

Speakers included service users, both past and present, with lived experience of addictions, as well as carers, all of whom shared moving stories demonstrating their strength and resilience. Partner agencies, such as Streetlink, spoke about the power of working together to support recovery.

Guests were invited to take part in creative activities, enjoy refreshments, and connect in an inclusive and welcoming space.

The day was a powerful reminder that recovery is never a solitary journey—it can be challenging but, with the type of support offered by ARCH and partner services (including Probation, the Police, and our secondary care mental health services in CNWL), it is achievable and can be sustained.

Reflecting on the event, Jaya Karira, Area Manager said: “Together with Asha Faldu, Sector Manager and Dr Jeff Fehler, Addictions Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist at ARCH we were inspired to see so many people come together to celebrate recovery. The courage of those who shared their stories is a powerful reminder that recovery truly touches every person, every family, and every community.”
