As Sexual Health Week 2025 kicks off from 15 to 21 September, CNWL is joining the national conversation to challenge online myths and promote evidence-based sexual health. This year’s theme, “Chronically Online”, focuses on how digital spaces—from TikTok and Instagram to Reddit and forums shape our understanding of sex, relationships, and wellbeing.
In a world where young people increasingly turn to social media for answers about their bodies and relationships, misinformation can spread just as fast—if not faster—than the truth. From contraception myths and HIV stigma to misunderstanding STIs, the internet often fuels fear and confusion instead of empowerment.
Throughout the week, we will be sharing a series of digital myth-busters to help individuals spot falsehoods and access reliable sexual health resources.
In addition to online content, CNWL offers free resources, sexual health drop-ins, and signposts to local services—particularly for young people, LGBTQ+ communities, and those who face barriers to accessing care.
Want to learn more about testing?
CNWL has played a key role in the LUSTRUM2 study, which has produced impactful short films about supporting people seeking STI testing after a partner's diagnosis.
What's on?
If you live in London
You can order a home testing kit online or attend a quick check appointment in one of our clinics.
You can also re-order or start PrEP (a HIV prevention medication) please visit this page to find out more.
If you need to see a clinician because you have symptoms or are a contact of a sexually transmitted infection, please visit www.sexualhealth.cnwl.nhs.uk for more information on booking an appointment in one of our sexual health clinics in London.
Getting a sexual health check is easy and shouldn’t be embarrassing or shameful; sex is a normal part of our adult life, and STIs can be a part of it, so we encourage everybody to test regularly and be in control of their sexual health. It’s a quick, simple process that not only puts your mind at rest but could protect you from more serious complications like infertility. Protect your sex life – and protect your partner.
