Dr Sukh Bahia has been appointed the Director of Medical Education at CNWL.
Dr Cornelius Kelly, CNWL’s Medical Director, said, “I am delighted that we have been able to appoint a terrific successor to Dr Alex Bailey as Director of Medical Education, Dr Sukh Bahia; Sukh brings a wealth of experience and skills having worked as Deputy Director (of Medical Education, for some time, from his management experience as a Clinical Director and from his front line post as a consultant in a busy service.) I know you will all join me in congratulating Sukh and in offering him your support to enable him to be a great success in this challenging role”
Dr Bahia grew up in London and studied Medicine in Manchester, completing his training in Psychiatry alongside a diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. He has worked in multiple specialties and roles across general adult psychiatry and currently works with the Early Intervention Service. Dr Bahia has been Training Programme Director for North West London and Deputy Director for Medical Education for CNWL.
He said, “I am very pleased to be appointed Director of Medical Education. Over the last few years we’ve significantly improved engagement with trainees and the experience of training.”
“I want to build on these changes by being an advocate for everyone involved in medical education and embedding more joint working. There’s a lot of fantastic work happening across CNWL and I want to make sure we are at the forefront of new developments in medical education and be recognised as an excellent place to train.”
