Are you looking to further or change your career? Do you want to join a team that works to improve the lives of vulnerable young people?

HMYOI Aylesbury is hosting a recruitment open day for those interested in working with young adults in either a bank or permanent capacity. The event takes place from 10am to 4.30 pm on Friday 2 September 2022 at Jury’s Inn Hotel in Milton Keynes, a 15-minute walk from the train station.

Prisons are one of the most challenging but rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you’re looking for a role where you can learn new skills, as well as develop new ones in a dynamic environment, then look no further. Working with young people who often have had a challenging childhood, exposed to trauma provides an opportunity to make a real difference in their lives and often change their future orientation.

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) recognises that patients within a young offenders’ institute deserve the same quality of treatment as the rest of the population. We’re looking for people who want to improve health, wellbeing, and care outcomes and who are passionate about helping to build safer communities and a more harmonious social cohesion.

The staff at Aylesbury will help to

  • Work with prison team to create a trauma- informed environment and intervention to support young men at HMP Aylesbury
  • Improve the health and wellbeing of people in prison and reduce health inequalities.
  • Improve future life outcomes and reduce reoffending, supporting rehabilitation by addressing health related drivers of offending behaviour.
  • Support access to continuity of care through the prison estate, pre-custody, and post-custody into the community.
