Clare Rowland, Senior Service Lead managing CNWL’s partnership with the British Red Cross, was interviewed by MyLondon this week.

These projects are partnered with Harrow Liaison Psychiatry (Northwick Park), Westminster Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Liaison Psychiatry (St Mary’s), Brent CMHT, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Liaison Psychiatry.

Three of the four projects are focused on supporting frequent attenders at A&E or individuals who have high re-admission rates for mental health problems.

The British Red Cross released a big piece of national research on 22 November about high intensity use of emergency services.

When our clinicians identify a real issue at the root of a person’s distress that may not be a medical reason, Clare’s team steps in to address issues such as benefits, debt, unemployment or housing.

The team are extremely flexible and concentrate on building an understanding and compassionate relationship with the person to help resolve the issues they’re having.

This piece published in MyLondon talks about some of the work Clare’s team do in more detail.
