This Sunday is International Nurses’ Day and today CNWL held a virtual celebration along with visits from our senior leaders to send a special thank you to our nursing family.
Maria O’Brien, Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Executive at CNWL, said
“You should be very proud of what you do and we’re proud to support all our nurses in providing the best and safest care possible. This week is about reflecting on all the things you do; we're in one of the best professions in the world!"
Celebratory nursing webinar
This year we are celebrating the theme, ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’.
We heard from a range of colleagues from across our nursing workforce, sharing career journeys and learning more about how the Trust has invested in them and you.
Our Chief Nurse Fellows also talked about the investment in them and how much they have appreciated the opportunity to develop through the programme.
By connecting with each other, we can achieve great things and continue to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients. Together, let's celebrate our achievements and the bright future that lies ahead of us.
Marking Nurses Day at Park Run on 11 May
We’re also encouraging staff to take part in their local park run on Saturday. Collectively the NHS is asking nurses to celebrate the day with their colleagues, friends and family or NHS volunteers to thank and recognise our nurses. To help mark the day you might like to wear NHS blue or fancy dress while taking part. Visit the parkrun website to find your local event and register for free. Join the International Nurses Day group. On the day, share a post @CNWLNHS
Maria continued
“Whatever you do, I hope you take some time this week to raise a ‘cup’ to mark the day and remind yourself why you came into this amazing profession. We have our own CNWL nursing badge that you designed; wear it proudly today and every day.”
