The television series It’s A Sin introduced a new generation to the AIDS pandemic through drama. The National HIV Story Trust (NHST) wants to introduce people to the real life stories of those who lived through it ... and survived.

This online live event, which takes place on Tuesday 27 April from 4pm to 5.15pm, provides an introduction to the history of HIV/AIDS through the personal experience of speakers, archive footage and filmed interviews.

It will take people on a journey from the early days when HIV was a death sentence to the opening of the first specialist ward by Princess Diana; from the advent of effective medication to the present day - when HIV is considered a manageable condition.
