On today's show One Community Radio is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week.
Mental Health Awareness Week gives the opportunity to reflect and focus on achieving good mental health. This week’s guests all help patients and carers with their mental health, ensuring they feel supported and on their way to feeling happier and more confident.
Igor Nobokreshchenov from Carers Found will be talking to us about a new project that will reach out to unpaid carers in Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kensington & Chelsea. This project offers workshops and presentations to help carers feel more supported. Abi Aygemang from CNWL’s Carers Council will also be joining the conversation with Igor.
Ally Jaffee, founder of Nutritank, will introduce her amazing project on food, its impact on mood and the connection between healthy eating and good mental health.
We are delighted to be joined by Nik Galanis, Kensington and Chelsea Employment Services Team leader. Nik will be talking about the life changing impact Employment Services have had to those in mental health services. Nik will discuss how Employment Specialists help patients with long-term support and finding a career they love. Joining in the conversation with Nik is an employer who has supported patients from Employment Services find their careers.
As always, our fantastic regular guests will be joining in, Evvy Miller reading Life of Pi and Laura Cavill our Poet Laureate with her own composition on this week's theme.
