Kristian's appointment follows a highly competitive recruitment process that attracted an excellent field of candidates. Kristian brings a wealth of experience in Health and Justice, having most recently served as the Deputy Divisional Nursing Director in Diggory Division. His expertise and commitment to this field will be invaluable as he steps into this leadership role.

Kristian says:

“I am delighted to be returning to Health and Justice which is the area I started my career 16 years ago as a newly qualified nurse. Patrick has been an inspiration both as a nurse and as the Service Director and I know I have some awfully big shoes to fill but I am looking forward to the challenge”

Kristian will be working closely with Patrick Gillespie, the current Service Director, to ensure a smooth and comprehensive handover. After many years of exceptional service to the NHS in a variety of leadership roles, Patrick will be taking a well-earned retirement. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and leadership, and we wish him all the very best for the future

Patrick says:

"After more than a decade of working within CNWL, it has been an absolute privilege to serve, from my time in Milton Keynes Mental Health Services to my most recent role in Health & Justice since 2020. This role has been one of the most special in my career, with the responsibility of providing strategic leadership and operational management for services that support some of the most vulnerable  patients in Prison, Forensic or in contact with Liaison & Diversion Services. I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside such a dedicated team whose unwavering commitment to patient care, despite the challenging environments they work in, has been inspiring.

I am delighted that Kristian Lane is returning to Health & Justice as the new Service Director. He is well-respected, and there is great excitement about his appointment, which bodes well for his leadership. Kristian possesses all the right qualities—he is deeply focused on patient care and staff development. His passionate commitment to H&J will undoubtedly take the service to new levels, and I wish him and the team every success for the future."

Kristian is expected to formally take up the position on a date to be confirmed and we will provide more details in due course. In the meantime, please join us in extending a warm welcome to Kristian and our very best wishes to Patrick.
