The documentary about Quentin Blake’s long and illustrious career is to be broadcast on Christmas Day at 4.10pm on BBC2.
There is a section on his work for hospitals with a brief appearance from Dr Nick Rhodes, contributions from Kathryn Coleman (who was then a nurse at the Child Development Centre in Hillingdon), and a moving contribution from a patient in our Eating Disorders service. These last two are of course among the services that have Quentin’s work around the walls.
Dr Rhodes said, “Quentin’s hospital work has spread beyond CNWL, and there are some shots of a maternity unit in Cambridge as well, for example. But it all started in CNWL in 2005/2006, so I think we can take some pride in our Trust’s role in Quentin’s rather unique contribution to art for healthcare sites!”
