This paper has been published and includes a CNWL Physiotherapist Jamie Harper who works at Hunter Street Integrated Primary Care team in Camden.

Jamie says: “The research was looking at the validity and acceptability of a variety of activity monitors (both wrist-worn and hip-mounted) in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.

“The general finding was that these devices were unable to accurately record step count or time in activity for this population, which negatively impacted on acceptability for participants.

“The study also identified other issues of note for commercial devices in MS populations including screen size and lighting and ease of donning/doffing and charging devices due to the visual and dexterity issues associated with MS.”
