It's Sexual Health Week (13 – 19 September) and this year’s theme is Consent: Do You Get It?

Consent is integral to our lives, and is the key to healthy, happy and safe relationships. Learning about consent is an important part of young people’s relationship and sex education.

The Department of Education’s (DfE) Relationships, sex and health education (RSE) Guidance outlines that by the age of 16, young people need to learn about “how people can actively communicate and recognise consent from others, including sexual consent, and how and when consent can be withdrawn (in all contexts, including online)”.

CNWL offer free and confidential sexual health services in London and Surrey, plus additional clinics in Haringey to support young people. You can watch videos about the Haringey services below:

Working alongside Haringey Council, CNWL is also supporting the ‘We’re Open’ campaign; to join the conversation about consent and empower people to talk about it positively and proactively. Find more information on sexual health and relationships from Haringey Council here.

CNWL Sexual Health will be at Surrey Pride on Saturday 25 September, where people in the area can drop by and ask our staff anything about sexual health. More details to follow next week.
