Purple Day 2022 is on Saturday 26 March and raises awareness of epilepsy worldwide. Find out more information here.
Purple Day was initiated by a nine-year-old girl named Cassidy Megan, and was motivated by her own struggle with epilepsy. The first Purple Day was in 2008.
Today CNWL staff celebrated Purple Day with balloons (which were purple of course!) and highlighted the work of CNWL’s Disabled Employees Network (DEN+), who do fantastic work supporting staff with a disability.
This week Den+ launched their very first Disability Awareness Message of the Month, which will highlight people’s personal experiences of living and working with a disability, different conditions both visible and hidden, and give tips so we all can have a better understanding and support colleagues and patients in ways we haven’t thought of before. This first edition raised awareness of Purple Day and encouraged staff across the Trust to take part.
Staff can read the Disability Awareness Message of the Month on the DEN+ Trustnet page.
Tomorrow, no matter what you’re doing, wear some purple!
