This Year of the Child session will provide an overview of how young people experience the justice system, covering how their health needs are attended to within this area.

It will be facilitated by Melissa Beaumont (Lead Nurse and Clinical Lead for Children & Young People, HMYOI Cookham Wood).

It’s aimed at staff and professionals who want to learn more about youth justice, but particularly relevant for Looked After Children teams, school nurses working in PRUs and CAMHS staff. 

Melissa will also discuss SECURE STAIRS - a nationwide framework to support staff to deliver more developmentally-attuned and psychologically-informed care to children in custody.
