The Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster (KCW) School Health Service provides specialist nursing care, advice and support to school-age children and their families with a focus on:

  • Staying healthy
  • Emotional and mental health
  • Weight management
  • Sexual health
  • Drugs and alcohol-related problems
  • Stopping smoking.

The service supports children and young people aged five to 19 attending mainstream and special schools in KCW.

Generally, children are transferred to the School Nursing Service from the Health Visiting Service once they reach five years old. Schools highlight healthcare needs to their named school nurse so a referral is not necessary.

Services are available from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday during term time and 9am to 5pm during school holidays. Outside normal working hours, please leave a message and a member of the team will respond as soon as possible.
