CNWL mental health services in Brondesbury Road are to move in November.

This is due to a re-development of the building and several around it; Brent Council, who own the buildings gave notice for us to move earlier this year and the plan is to move onto CNWL sites.

The plan will allow us to work towards providing service closer to the population in Brent rather then just from one site in the far south east of the Borough.

The sites are:

  • Fairfield House in Kingsbury, this is an established site that already has IAPT, Older People's and CMHT Psychotherapy services on site
  • Park Royal Centre for Mental Heath, this is the main site in Park Royal you know of
  • Fairlight House in Neasden - this was a previous rehabilitation site and is being re-developed for the use of the community services.

In addition to this there is a building suitable for outpatient services in Willesden (Bell House) that will be bookable by staff.

The move will allow us to build on local services linked with the Primary Care Networks and give options for treatrment for people living in Brent.

As an example we have no base in the north of the Borough and the move will allow us to have the Kingsbury and Willesden Team to run services from Kingsbury (Fairfield House) along with our depot and Wellbeing clinic so people don't have to travel to Kilburn for a service; this will be run alongside the services in the South of the Borough.

The building and conversion work is underway and we aim to move at the end of November.

The staff will be able to book clinics in any of the buildings in Brent convenient for the people they are seeing.

There will obviously be an impact for the move as any move would, but we are keeping this to the minimum; there will be the same number of consulting rooms as we have at present, increased clinic rooms and we will have improved telecoms and virtual working.

We have discussed this with partner organisations and we are working with Brent Thrive (the local group for people with lived experience) on the communications for patients, GPs, Partner Organisations, to ensure it is a co-produced document.
