CNWL has been providing sexual health services in the County since 2017 and has been awarded the contract for a further five years, commissioned by Surrey County Council. The Council sought feedback from residents, stakeholders and partners in the wider healthcare system in the development of these services to consider local needs.

CNWL’s Sexual Health services are rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

The services will continue to operate from three main clinical hubs; Buryfields in Guildford, Earnsdale in Redhill and Woking Community Hospital offering sexual health and contraception. Buryfields and Earnsdale will also offer HIV services.

CNWL has also opened a weekly clinic in Strodes College, Egham focussing on access to services for young people aged 25 years and under and are planning to open further clinics at other locations in the County. These clinics will offer contraception, chlamydia screening, access to the Condom Distribution (C-Card) and provide support, advice and signposting to other services when required.

CNWL Surrey Sexual Health Service offers:

  • Easy online ordering of sexual health and HIV testing kits for discreet home delivery for Surrey residents aged 16 and over
  • Online contraception including pills, patches and vaginal rings to make routine repeat prescriptions of contraceptive easier and more accessible
  • Emergency appointments at Guildford and Redhill for:
    • Emergency contraception (hormonal and coil)
    • Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) following possible exposure to HIV
  • Bookable appointments for:
    • Sexual Health (symptomatic patients)
    • Fitting and removal of contraceptive implants and coils
    • All sexual health and contraception services for young people 17 years of age and under
    • Access to PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) medication taken by HIV negative people to reduce their chance of contracting the HIV virus
    • Treatment for sexually transmitted infections and vaccinations
  • Management and treatment of complex referrals 
  • HIV treatment and care services for newly diagnosed and other people living with HIV
  • Provision of Outreach services including:
    • Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea under 25s screening programme
    • Condom Distribution (C-Card)
    • Sexual Health awareness raising for young people and professionals
    • Working in partnership with Pharmacies and GPs who provide sexual health services across the county
    • Harm reduction information and support for communities most at risk of poor sexual health
    • Psychosexual counselling and support
