CNWL is proud to be a vital partner in the North London Forensic Collaborative (NLFC), which has successfully won the competitive tender to provide Integrated Non-Custodial Services across North London.

NLFC is a partnership between; North London NHS Foundation Trust (lead provider), Central North West London Foundation Trust, East London NHS Foundation Trust, North East London NHS Foundation Trust, West London NHS Trust and Waythrough.

As part of this collaborative, this includes delivering mental health clinicians to custody suites across the Metropolitan, City of London, and British Transport Police, as well as Magistrates and Crown Courts, including the Central Criminal Court. Additionally, they will also provide Primary Care Men’s Mental Health Treatment Requirements, a first for London. This whole pathway will feature wraparound community support from their voluntary sector partner, Waythrough.

These services will contribute meaningfully to both health outcomes and justice system efficiencies, including:

  • creating continuity of care throughout the person’s journey reducing risk to self and others
  • providing a trauma informed NHS-led clinical service within the whole criminal justice pathway

Delay in court processes will be reduced as well as increase community sentence options, alleviating pressure on prison places.

Mark Landy, NLFC Managing Director said: "We are very proud that the NLFC five NHS Provider Trusts and our new partner Waythrough, were successful in this tender. We have the opportunity to build upon our success in mental health forensic care, by integrating this service provision. We will ensure our pooled forensic provider collaborative expertise and resource is applied to these services bringing greater system benefits."

Jinjer Kandola, Chief Executive of North London NHS Foundation Trust which hosts NLFC, said: “This tender award is testament to the work which the NLFC team delivers, and it’s an exciting new chapter in a joined-up story of excellent care, delivered by staff who benefit from first class support, and working in close partnership with the other agencies in the justice system to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.”
