Lord Adebowale and local MP Danny Beales met with Claire Eves, Service Director for Outer London Services, and Vanessa Odlin, Managing Director of Goodall.
They were visiting to see how NHS organisations in Hillingdon work together under Hillingdon Health and Care Partners (HHCP).
Under HHCP, NHS Trusts in Hillingdon deliver integrated care, which means they coordinate the care of patients more closely - making their wellbeing journey smoother and more effective.
The NHS in Hillingdon is made up of different local NHS Trusts, each with its own specialities and responsibilities.
Without HHCP and integrated working, transferring care - from a GP or hospital to community services like district nursing or mental health - could be inconsistent, sometimes leading to gaps in care or misunderstandings.
Claire Eves said:
“When we collaborate - like we are through the Hillingdon Healthcare Partnership - our work becomes invisible, as it should. Because that means we’re delivering what patients expect: one NHS, one seamless journey. I’m proud to represent CNWL’s ongoing commitment to HHCP, just as we have since the beginning. And I fully support the vision and value of integrated neighbourhoods.”
Having an integrated NHS means better care for patients. That includes:
- Preventative: Helping people take charge of their health and reduce the risk of chronic illness.
- Empowering: Supporting those with long-term conditions to manage their health and seek help when needed.
- Community-based: Providing care at home or close to home whenever safe and appropriate.
- Efficient: Keeping hospital stays to a minimum and only when truly needed.
Lord Adebowale is the Chair of NHS Confederation. The NHS Confederation is a membership organisation that acts as a voice for those who work in the health and care system.
It was recently announced that Hillingdon will be part of the Government’s new neighbourhood health plan. CNWL has been chosen as the integrator for Hillingdon. Building on the success of HHCP, we’ll work with our partners to help NHS services work even more closely together - delivering smoother, joined-up care for local residents.
