Meet Dalia, who shares her experience as an international nurse.

Dalia Vergese started her career in 2009, working in different nursing roles in India and Kuwait, which is also where she gained her professional training and teaching.

We employ more than 2,000 nursing staff at CNWL, and Dalia joined our team at St Pancras Rehabilitation Unit (SPRU), providing treatment and support for patients whose physical abilities have been reduced through illness, such as stroke, falls or a musculoskeletal condition.

Recently promoted to Acting Senior Nurse at SPRU (Band 6), Dalia has been given many opportunities to grow her career, including insight into management positions.

“I’m always striving to sharpen my skills. What has helped is my attitude, eagerness to learn, empathy, belief in myself and quick decision making. These are the skills required for ones' success.”

Supported and guided along the way by her managers and team members, Dalia has been able to build her confidence.

“I would like to thank CNWL for recognising my work, and express sincere gratitude to my managers and team members for the continuous support and guidance. This recognition is truly encouraging and motivating.”

William Sakala, Director of Nursing, Goodall Division, says: “This is great news coming from SPRU, and recognition of the abilities from our internationally recruited nurses.”
