Today you will start to see more CNWL staff members in uniform; polo shirts and trousers being worn during the pandemic. Some staff were always in uniform (like District Nurses) but now we are extending this to all staff working in clinical settings.
A number of professional groups have not traditionally worn uniforms and have chosen their preferred colours below along with colleagues who have chosen to wear the colour usually associated with their professional group.
Navy = senior nurse, physio and Speech and Language Therapists
Royal blue = registered nurse
Burgundy = social worker
Green (olive and pea) = OT, therapy assistants and psychology
White =administration
Black =medical
Gray= health care assistant
Charcoal = band 4, TNA and activity co-ordinator
Purple = peer worker
Helen Willetts, the Director of Nursing leading the nursing response to Covid-19 at CNWL said, “This is all about better infection control, so staff feel safer as will also patients. Uniforms are for work only and are taken home and washed every day.”
